The Rupture Collection by Clémence Artikol is a deep and interesting approach to an amazing haute couture world with broken glass and mirror sculptures incrusted in her creations to runway” – Editor’s note
The brand shows the elegant and distinguished woman in chic and elaborated pieces with masculine fabrics while adding a touch of handmade textile and crystals to each creation which makes each design more quirky and original. It’s this famous touch that will symbolize the DNA of the collections in playing on embroidery, smocks, torn strips of fabric to give an illusion of patterns and volumes on the pieces, Clemence also like to mix several different materials on her designs.
The theme of this collection is called “The Rupture”. It was inspired by the artist contemporary Baptiste Debombour, with his broken glass and mirror sculptures for these sides unstructured, voluminous, and shiny which give a reflection to clothes. The designer used genuine crystal beads on her collection, she also considered “Canadian smocks” which is a technique for creating textile patterns. This method gives a braided pattern that fits in
the interpretation of “The Rupture” for its tangled and knotted side, as an impression that something is broken in us that cannot be released from it.
